보이거나 잡히지 않지만 존재하는 목록을 찾아서, 2018

도시는 건물, 자동차, 사람 등 눈에 보이는 무엇인가로 구성된 화려한 스펙터클로 치장되어 있다. 그렇다면 분명히 도시에 존재하지만 눈에 보이지 않는 것을 찾기 위해 밖으로 나섰다. 미세먼지, 공기, 열기, 파장 등 비물질적 요소들이 바로 그것이다. 나는 직접 도시를 걸으며 망원경과 돋보기로 보이지 않는 미세요소를 관찰하고, 청소기와 붓으로 공기 중 떠다니는, 혹은 창가에 내려앉은 먼지를 채집하였다. 이 채집의 퍼포먼스는 『보이거나 잡히지 않지만 존재하는 목록을 찾아서』라는 영상으로 기록되었다.

A city is filled with showy spectacles made up with those that are visible including buildings, cars, and people. Then what exists between those that are visible? I goes out to find those that clearly exist in the city but are invisible. Intangible elements such as particulate matter, air, hear, and wavelengths are what I looks for. I observed microscopic elements using a telescope and magnifying glass while walking around the city, and collected the dust that floated in the air and were on the window seal with a vacuum cleaner and a brush. My performance of the collection gave birth to a video recording, 『Searching for a list of those that are invisible or illusive』.
